About us

Sharon Osterhouse, violin, earned a Bachelor of Music degree at Temple University in Philadelphia as a performance major. She has played professionally with the Reading Symphony in Pennsylvania, West Chester Symphony in New York, and Kansas City Symphony orchestras. Sharon is an active freelance musician in the Twin Cities area and has played with Minnesota Orchestra, Skylark Opera, Vox Corda String Orchestra, and Festival of the Lakes in Alexandria as well as for churches, colleges, touring ballet companies, shows, and recordings. She teaches private violin lessons in her home and at The St. Paul Conservatory of Music. She and her husband live in St. Paul and have four children and a cat named Sebastian.

 

Charlene Hess, violin, received a B.A. in Violin Performance from Bethel College in St. Paul and a M.M. in Violin Performance from the University of MN where she studied with Roland and Almita Vamos. She has served on the music faculty at North Central University and Crown College where she taught violin, viola, and coached string ensembles. She has also founded and performed with The Crown Trio. Charlene is an active free-lance musician in the Twin Cities, performing for churches, colleges, recordings, and shows. She shares a home with her husband and their three young daughters.

 

Susan Scott, viola, earned her Master of Music degree in viola performance from Ohio University in Athens and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Wisconsin in Superior. She is a free-lance musician in the Twin Cities, performing at various venues through out the area. Susan has performed with the Charleston Symphony, Duluth-Superior Symphony, Traverse City Symphony, Interlochen Chamber Orchestra and as principal violist of the Civic Orchestra of Minneapolis and the St. Croix String Quartet. Susan is currently on the orchestra faculty in the Roseville Area Schools and Coordinator of Elementary Instrumental Music. She is married to violin maker, William Robert Scott. Together with their two grown sons they form a complete string quartet and enjoy playing music together as a family.

 

Sarah West, cello, studied at the Juilliard School of Music and at the University of Minnesota. She has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center and in a series of live chamber music concerts broadcast from the Library of Congress. She has worked as a freelance musician in Chicago and the Twin Cities, including a tour with Ray Charles, studio work, performances with the Chicago Chamber Orchestra, Chicago Opera Theatre, Plymouth Music Series, Minnesota Opera, and other diverse groups. In 2005, Sarah was honored with Teacher of the Year award by the Minnesota chapter of the American String Teacher's Association. She currently teaches private cello lessons at her home in Minneapolis.
