Questions and Answers About the Wedding Ceremony

How do I select music?
Begin by listening to the Evergreen String Quartet Sampler CD.  We offer a variety of musical styles and moods for the various phases of the ceremony.  We are happy to assist you in selecting music and can offer friendly, expert advice to create a moving, memorable, unique event.

Can the quartet accompany or play along with additional musicians such as a vocalist or organist?
We have extensive experience working with singers and other musicians.  A prearranged rehearsal time is necessary and required to ensure a quality performance for your ceremony.  This can be done just prior to the ceremony.  A separate rehearsal can also be arranged for an additional fee.

What will the quartet need on the day of the service?
We will need four comfortable chairs without arms and a space that is approximately 10 feet by 10 feet.  We provide our own music stands and can bring supplemental lighting, if needed.

Where should the quartet set up?
When deciding where to situate the quartet, the points to consider are space and how the sound will carry.  Most commonly, the quartet is seated to the front of the wedding site and off to the side away from traffic.

What about performing out of doors?
Although an outdoor wedding can be a delightful and glorious event, an alternative plan needs to be made in case of inclement weather if you wish to have the quartet perform.  Our musical instruments cannot be played in the direct sun or precipitation of any kind and we prefer not to play in temperatures below 65 degrees.  Strong winds are also not favorable as they can cause music stands to topple and make it difficult to manage sheet music.  (If the quartet is hired to play for an outdoor wedding with no alternative site/plan and there is inclement weather at the time of the wedding, our policy states that the quartet will not play but will still require full payment.)

Does the quartet come to the wedding rehearsal?
Details of the ceremony can be discussed over the phone or by email to ensure a seamless service.  If the wedding couple desires the quartet to be at the wedding rehearsal, arrangements can be made and there will be an additional fee.

What about fees and payment?
A nonrefundable deposit of $100.00 will hold the quartet for the date of your wedding.  Full payment is due two (2) weeks before the event.  Call or email us to reserve your date and to receive a contract by mail.  The signed contract should then be returned with a deposit paid by check or money order.  We will hold your date up to two weeks until your deposit is received.  Please contact us for a schedule of our fees.

Do you play for wedding receptions?
Yes!  We can play for a cocktail hour or dinner reception immediately following the ceremony or at a separate location.  We also play for corporate events, private parties, and banquets.
